The Michigan chapter of March of Dimes will be hosting its March for Babies on Saturday April 26, 2014 in Grand Rapids. There are teams of all kinds participating in this fund raising walk: family teams who have personally experienced prematurity or want to support loved ones, company teams who are March of Dimes supporters and also individual walkers who feel connected to the cause. You can start a team, join a team or walk without a team. Everyone who participates is a valued supporter and will truly make a difference.

March of Dimes is an organization that seeks to reduce and eliminate premature births and educate the community about healthy prenatal care. Funds are used for research and programs to help babies have the best start to life possible. At times, prematurity can be prevented with the proper care and education. It is the goal of the March of Dimes that all moms be able to have full-term healthy pregnancies that end in healthy deliveries and ultimately result in healthy, thriving babies.

March for Babies events take place all over the country, and the funds raised at the Grand Rapids walk will benefit families right here in our Michigan community. The walk always has a good turn out and raises a nice amount to support the March of Dimes. The walk is a fun, family friendly event that is suitable for all ages. There is a great feeling of community and charity present at the March for Babies, especially when some of the participants were once premature babies themselves.

The March for Babies is a family friendly event and there will be food, information and activities available at the walk for all participating. Registration begins at 9:00 am at the Farmers Insurance Campus, 5600 Beechtree, Caledonia, MI 49316. The walk begins at 10:30. This event is an excellent way to get involved with an organization that is striving to help families and raise awareness right here in our area.
